The Aberdeenshire Bothy is a collaborative project with Aberdeenshire Council and Cycling UK, funded by Smarter Choices Smarter Places. Our aim is to help local residents find the joy in walking and cycling in the council’s five integrated travel towns, Ellon, Fraserburgh, Huntly, Inverurie and Portlethen.
Our activities include 1:1 Better Biking, designed to improve confidence on a bike whether you are new to cycling or just need a little guidance on the road; family sessions, similar to our 1:1 Better Biking but designed with families in mind; led rides and led walks with our local volunteers; 1:1 buddy rides, designed to improve on-road cycling confidence on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor; and active travel events.
