Fiver Fest Returns 11 - 25 March
By Experience Huntly on 07/03/2023
A national campaign which promotes buying local is set to return to Huntly.
Fiver Fest will take place from 11 – 25 March, with a number of deals available across a range of businesses in the town.
The campaign was introduced by Totally Locally and now runs nationally three times a year to encourage independent businesses to promote £5 offers over a two-week duration in a bid to promote local shopping. Fiver Fest presents an opportunity for businesses to entice new and returning customers across the threshold, and offers local shoppers a chance to find a bargain and visit some unexplored local establishments. Huntly has taken part previously, with local businesses and shoppers reporting success and enthusiasm for the campaign and encouraging its return.
The event is being coordinated locally by Vivien Rae, marketing manager for Experience Huntly, who commented, “This will be the fifth Fiver Fest campaign Huntly has taken part in since 2021. It is a great opportunity to enforce the message of shop local, ensuring our local independent businesses get the footfall and support required to help them remain in our town centre. We have several new businesses signed up to take part in this Fiver Fest campaign too, which means even more great deals available locally for shoppers. The impact of spending local is so important, it leads to more jobs, a better town centre, a stronger economy and ultimately makes the area a nicer place to live. Any measures we can take to support local really do have a direct and positive impact on the community.”
Funds to support participation in the event were secured by Huntly Business Association from Foundation Scotland from the Clashindarroch Wind Farm Community Fund established by wind farm owner Vattenfall.
Helen Kings, treasurer of Huntly Business Association added, “The Fiver Fest campaign is a great initiative which has been well received by the businesses and shoppers in Huntly. As a Business Association, we are always looking for ways to support our local business community and increase footfall in the town centre, and Fiver Fest has proven to be a good initiative to facilitate this. We hope shoppers will show their support by visiting local businesses in Huntly during the campaign and benefitting from the deals on offer.”
